The Southern Historic Saloons will be in action as the drivers chase those vital points in the ongoing track championship. Visiting classics will contest the Classic Championship, alongside the regular Angmering drivers.
Southern Historic Saloons feature a good cross section of classic iron, with MG Magnettes, a Consul, Anglia, Mk I and II Cortinas and a Hillman Avenger taking to the track.
The championship race is an open, strictly non-contact event which will allow for classics of all formulas to combine and race on the banked West Sussex circuit.
To add to the action on the ground, Angmering is also hosting a car jump, with drivers attempting to power their cars over as many scrapped cars as possible.
Angmering is located just off the A280, between Worthing and Angmering. The gates open at 8am, with racing commencing at 11.30am. Adult admission is £12 for this event kids, 10-14, £5, with kids under ten free. Senior Citizens, disabled and Students (with valid student cards) can also enjoy a days racing for just £5. Angmering also offers free parking on hard core surfaces.
The Zodiac features its original six-cylinder engine and rare original Ford four-speed manual box. The Zody is currently having a few gremlins sorted out by O.L.G.O.R’s Micky Thorpe prior to race day. He reports all is looking good for the old track warrior to join the rest of the classics on the day.
The Zodiac came to the club due to its previous owner losing the car’s storage space. Not wishing to see the car leave the track where he used to race it regularly he offered the car to the local classic stock car team first and (not surprisingly) they snapped it up.
Catch the latest classic in action at Angmering with the rest of the field on Sunday, August 16th.
Angmering is located just off the A280, between Worthing and Angmering. The gates open at 8am, with racing commencing at 11.30am. Adult admission is £10 kids, 10-14, £5, with kids under ten free.

Angmering will showcase stock car racing from the sport’s glory days on Sunday, July 19th when the Oval Legends Go Out Racing (O.L.G.O.R) classic stock cars take to the track.
Angmering reports that interest is growing at a rapid rate in the classic stock car formula. The West Sussex circuit currently has two groups of classics racing at the circuit on alternate weeks. Oval Racing Legends confirm this growth of interest in the sport’s past being brought alive for the present, with the club buying another classic stock car ready to race (more info to follow on these pages) and fielding inquiries from fans keen to get off the terraces and behind the wheel of a vintage machine.
A full supporting card of formulas will also be in action with the Junior Rods, A and B Production, Modified C, Production Stox and Saloon Rod formulas and the ever-popular Bangers hitting the circuit in pursuit of points in the winter season’s racing.
With an impressive grid of cars and the chance to see the Classic Stock Cars reliving their glory days, Angmering will deliver a great action packed and value for money day out both young and old race fans on Sunday, July 19th.
Angmering is located just off the A280, between Worthing and Angmering. The gates open at 8am, with racing commencing at 11.30am. Adult admission is £10 kids, 10-14, £5, with kids under ten free.

Hello,
My name is John Jackson I raced Hot Rod #31 for Spedeworth International in the late 70’s early 80’s, a bright yellow Mk 1 Ford Escort. I raced regularly at Ringwood, Wimbledon, and Aldershot. When I stopped racing to start my own, now very successful garage business in 1982, I sold my car to an unknown person from London. When this chap came to see the car, we agreed a price and gave him my complete scrap book of all my newspaper cuttings, photos, etc. of my successes with the car, on the understanding that he would return them when he collected the car, well, you guessed, he forgot them! Promised to post them and never did! A whole exiting part of my life lost forever? Photos with George Polley, Barry Lee, Mick Collard, cuttings on my racing in motoring news, gone! I have tried to get back issues, but all crumbled away now!!! Can anybody help? Did you buy a (now white) Escort #31 from Eastleigh in Hampshire, do you remember me, or have any Photos? I would be eternally grateful if anybody can help. Please contact me on 01329 834131, or email johnbta@hotmail.co.uk.
